About Me
Firas Al Alam
I am a licensed clinical psychologist, researcher, and university instructor from Lebanon. I have been working as a researcher over the last 7 years in the field of psychology. Working with organizations such as King's College London and War Child Holland, my research focus has included drivers of violence and peace, refugee caregivers and mental health, as well as sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). In 2022, after earning my Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology, I began working as a clinical psychologist providing counseling and psychotherapy for patients suffering from various psychological ailments –especially mental disorders. I further honed my therapeutic skills by pursuing advanced training with renowned clinicians (see “ Trained by ” ). I take special interest in staying up-to-date on and implementing evidence-based interventions in my practice. I have always thought of myself as profession-oriented and student-oriented. Therefore, as of 2023, I feel fortunate to say that I get to share my clinical and research knowledge with undergraduate students through my instructor position at the University of Balamand. Currently, I instruct students in the topics of child and adolescent psychopathology, adult psychopathology, and forensic psychology. I am fluent in spoken and written English, Arabic, and French.
